The Begining! The simpsons started of as a little 1-2 minute slot on the 'Tracy Ulman Show', hence the name the simpson shorts. As you can tell by the picture bellow the animation was pretty sloppy, but this was only because Matt Groening believed the people at the 'Tracy Ulman Show' would neaten up the animation- guess what they didn't! Anyway As I previously said individualy these shorts were 1-2 minutes, they were aired during the break of the 'Tracy Ulman Show' and they consisted of three seasons with around 48 episodes in total. The simpsons shorts only aired in America and was never shown on British television. But you can see the first episode of the shorts, 'Good Night' on the Simpsons complete first season DVD. Fox soon realised that these shorts were a huge success so they asked the creator, Matt Groening, if he would make a 20 minute show on the simpsons. Bellow is a picture of what the simpsons shorts looked like.
			The Simpsons The Simpsons is currently airing on Fox in America, and Sky 1 and BBC 2 in the Uk. In both America and England they are showing Season 14 of the simpsons, but of course america is slightly ahead by a few episodes. So far there have been 14 seasons of the simpsons in total and the 300th episode has just recently aired in America and it stars Blink 182, and Tony Hawk. In season 1 there was only 13 episodes but this was due to the fact that Fox were a bit unsure about giving Matt Groening (The shows Creator) many shows to do.
The Simpsons On DVD! There are currently 6 dvd's of the simpsons with more to come. These are: The Sipsons: The Sipsons:Backstage Pass The Sipsons:Comlete Series 1 (3 Discs) The Sipsons:Complete Series 2 (4 Discs) The Sipsons:Film Festival The Sipsons:Risky Business The Sipsons:Treehouse Of Horror I will give a brief description of every DVD: The Sipsons:Backstage Pass - This dvd contains a 4 episodes from different series. These are; Homerpalooza, A Tale of Two Springfields, Homer's Barber Shop Quartet, The Otto Show The Sipsons:Comlete Series 1 (3 Discs) - This DVD contains all 13 episodes from season 1 and a tone of extras plus the very first Simpson Short The Sipsons:Complete Series 2 (4 Discs) - This DVD contains all 22 episodes from season 2 over 4 discs. This too has a lot of extras but sadly no simpsons shorts The Sipsons:Film Festival - This contains 4 episodes from different series. These are; Beyond Blunderdome , Itchy and Scratchy: The Movie, 22 Short Films About Springfield, A Star is Burns The Sipsons:Risky Business - This is the latest DVD and again contains 4 differnt episodes from differnt series. These are; Reality Bites, Homer The Smithers, Deep Space Homer, Marge Gets A Job The Sipsons:Treehouse Of Horror - Again contains 4 episodes from a variety of series. These are; Treehouse Of Horror V, Treehouse Of Horror VI, Treehouse Of Horror VII, Treehouse Of Horror XII All in all these are great dvd's but I would definatly recomend getting The Sipsons:Comlete Series 1 ,The Sipsons:Complete Series 2			The Simpsons Books There have been roughly 7 simpsons books so far I am going to mention just three of these. These are: The Simpsons: The complete guide to our favourite family - This books gives you an in-depth guide to every episode from season 1-8. It also gives you an episode guide from all three seasons of the simpsons Shorts. The Simpsons: Forever - Following the success of the previous book it was only write that Matt Groening brought out another book like it, and he did. The Simpsons: Forever - Gives you an in-depth review of every episode from series 9-10. The Simpsons: Beyond Forever - Is the latest book from this series and gives an in-depth review of every episode from series 11-12. I personaly have all the books as i find them interesting as they have titles for every episode on stuff you may have missed.
